Jacqueline Martin, Creator of The Classical Pilates Quest

From humble beginnings being raised in Ivory Coast Africa, France, and Canada, Jacquie embarked early on her athletic career. She started out as a bodybuilder in her twenties, and then transitioned to triathlon. In this sport, she found tremendous success and turned professional. She accumulated top 5 finishes in 6 countries, top 2 in Ironman Canada, and top 20 at the Ironman World Championships. Turning her attention to Pilates after retiring from her triathlon career, Jacquie has become an internationally well known and respected teacher and leader in Classical Pilates.

Despite looking fit by most conventional standards, when she retired from triathlon, Jacquie, at the age of 35, realized the toll that intense training for all those years had taken on her body.

It was then, as she was transitioning out of professional triathlon that Jacquie discovered Pilates. This system offered her the path of rehabilitation and creating balance in her body for the long term. By 2015 she was accepted into the master mentorship program with the incomparable Jay Grimes, who was himself trained by Joe Pilates. She knew she had found her heart and passion. 

Today, at age 54, Jacquie has realized a profound difference in her physique in the last 19 years. She has no injuries, no chronic pain, fits in the same size clothes as in her twenties, and sailed through menopause.

In short, what she discovered was the magic contained in the Classical Pilates Method. She has trained hundreds of women over 40 in the last 19 years, who have also found their own remarkable transformations, and the key to youthful vitality.

Jacqueline's Credentials

 Jacqueline had a successful professional triathlon career, competing internationally in six countries. She finished in the        top four in Ironman Canada twice, and in the top 20 at the World Ironman Championships in Hawaii, with a                              respectable time of 10:01.
 In 2015, Jacqueline was the first Canadian accepted into “the Work” teacher training mentorship program to study               with Jay Grimes. Jay is one of the few elders in the world who studied with Joe Pilates directly. 
 In 2017, Jacqueline moved to Europe and started her proprietary teacher training “Lineage Pilates”, based in Warsaw,               Poland.
 In 2020, Jacqueline was featured in the January Polish edition of Vogue magazine. In this article, she explains the                   powerful transformational force behind Classical Pilates.

Month #1: Introduction
Introduction to the Pilates foundation work including principles and practices on the wall.  We will also explore the basic 11 exercises of the mat foundation.
 Learn the mat foundation 11 exercises breakdown and understand the                     round, tall and rotation spine shapes.

 The caveat is this program is designed to give you 30 days of working out 5         days a week for 6 weeks.
Month #2: Transitions & Layers Part 1
This second week you will learn why transitions are so important and why they are part of the mat foundation and the Classical Pilates system.
 You will learn the transitions breakdown with the options that your body               need at this time.
 You will learn the first layer of skillset with the low belly and how to use it in         your practice.
 You will learn the benefits of the transitions and feel your body moving from       one exercise to the other without stopping.
Month #3: Principles & Practice
Learn the principles and practices with optional exercises including the Magic Circle, the Theraband, Bolster or the Spine Corrector to help improve your mat foundation.
 Learn the optional exercises to identify and to improve the skills of using               the low belly.

Month #4: Progressions
Learn the mat progression, the breakdown of  10 new exercises of the progression mat and an understanding of the new spine shape.

Yes! Once you sign up for The Classical Pilates Quest you will receive an email with a link to a Pop-Up Facebook Group where this training will be hosted. All lessons will be live on zoom and recorded. You will receive all recorded material at the end of the 6 week program for your continued use.

Will I need to buy any equipment?
Jacqueline will recommend certain tools in your household to help you along the way. Most of the tools or equipment are not expensive and can easily be found online or at your neighbourhood health or sports store. Best part is, once you learn how to use these tools, they will serve you for a lifetime.

Examples of the equipment Jacqueline will recommend includes a exercise mat, a magic circle, one pound weights, a bolster and a resistance band.
Does The Classical Pilates Quest include a nutrition or diet plan?
No. This program is specifically designed to focus on developing a practice through Classical Pilates for improved fitness, health, and longevity.
What level of fitness do I need to perform the exercises in this program?
The Classical Pilates Quest is specifically designed to be accessible to anyone – no matter your age, or your current fitness levels. With that said, if you have any prior injuries, we highly recommend you consult your physician beforehand.
